Robert Fox was born in Ballyferode, Glenrue in 1883. His father was Patrick Fox and his mother was Bridget Barrett. She came from a place called Molans jus across the road.
Roberts father patrick died as a young man after an accident with a horse.
Robert had several brothers and sisters with robert being the youngest, his brother Tom farmed in the homeplace in Ballyferode, now the homeplace of Jim and Carmel Fox.
His brother Will lived in Mitchelstown. He had one sister who was a nun in Dublin, Sr Patrick. He also had a couple of sisters who went to America.
Robert moved to Cullane South in 1909 and married Bridget Keane, born 1878. Bridget had only one sister and she was a nun in Tralee called Sr. Michael, hence robert took over the farm.
Roberts wife Bridget Keane was a daughter of David Keane whose brothers John and Dennis went to Australia after the Faminearound 1860, the forefathers of Vincent Keane in Melbourne.
Roberet and Bridgie had gour siblings:
Bridie became a nun in Arklow. Paddy farmed in Cullane South. Eileen married Jimmey MacDonnell and lived in Dublin. Davie had a small outside farm in Glenbrohane and lived in cullane, never married.
Paddy married Madge McCarthy of Knockagarry, Mitchelstown in 1954. They had two sons Robbie and John.

Robbie was farming at home in Cullane. John went to college and did a masters degree in Agricultural Science.
Robbie married Anne Cronnin, Ballinaglough, Carrignavare in 1980 and had five in the family.
John married Phil Carroll, Castlerea, Roscommon in 1985 and had three in their family.
